Hello Isodifj,

Happy Father’s Day coming up this month! Hope your summer is off to a great start. We have been surviving some wicked heat here in Atlanta. At Vaughn's last day of school they had a beach day to keep the kids cool, he's here in the photo to the right.

In This Issue: This issue is about thriving in your career and in your transition, not just surviving: Read our Career Corner article to find out how to maintain balance during your career change.... And download our Free Report to find out how to take control of your career transition.

Additional Tidbit: In my career coaching I use the concept of Gremlins with my coaching clients to help them define and begin to overcome their fears, negative thoughts or obstacles about making a career change. The concept comes from a book I highly recommend called Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson. I've found over the years is that when your fears intensify, it can be a good thing because it means you are making change. Read this article and other articles on our blog here.

Setting Boundaries In Your Career Transition

Life can get a little crazy when change is happening all around us. If you've still got one foot in your former professional role and the other foot has stepped into the future, you may feel unsure of whether you're coming or going!

This is natural, especially in times of career transition. The trick is to set boundaries for yourself as a way to curb the feelings of overwhelm. Here are some examples:

1. Turn off some of the channels of information overflow. For instance, if you've signed up for new career membership associations or email newsletters, you could create a special email address for this purpose alone. This way, personal pursuits can be kept separate from your daily responsibilities, helping you to feel less distracted and stressed.

2. Monitor your time. You can make a commitment to not to think about anything career-related after a set time. Reserve another time slot for this purpose. Your commitment could be, "I will work on my career transition from 5:30-7:30 at least twice a week."

By setting and maintaining boundaries between your career goals, everyday responsibilities, and leisure pursuits, you will feel more in-control of your life, balanced and at peace with yourself and the process.
