Hi Isodifj,
With so much going on with the economy, it can be difficult to know whether now is a good time to work towards your next career goal (a promotion, a job change, that next certification), or sit tight until things stabilize. The downtime of summer can be a great time for some career planning. We would like you to take a few minutes at least to get ready for the fall, and do some long-term career planning for the next 6-12 months. Before you make any leap, we want you to be clear on your plan and be prepared for whatever comes next.
As with many things in life, reaching our goals can take longer than we expect, so we encourage you to get support for the long haul. We are here to help you with your short and long-term career goals through our various Coaching Packages and our Roadside Assistance Program. We hope the articles enclosed are helpful to you as a jumpstart.

Tips for Handling Rejection
A client of ours recently shared this with us and gave us permission to share it with you. It is so inspiring!
I read in the July/August issue of Real Simple an article on rejection and it being a part of life. We've all experienced rejection, but I learned some lessons from a few folks who know about "no" and how to move on and to be encouraged when one is shot down. Treat it as a stepping stone. As I read, rejections are part of every successful person's career. I've learned not to think of rejection as a devastating end, but as a useful step on the path to a new beginning. Don't take it personally. I learned that leaders should focus their feedback on the work, not the individual. Process criticism is what it's called. Praise can be offered. It's natural to feel hurt, but if you focus on the constructive aspect of criticism, it can be a growth opportunity.
