It’s back to school time Isodifj,

Hope you are getting back into the swing of work after the summer! Vaughn is enjoying his last few weekends at the pool and I just had to share this photo with you – pure joy jumping off the high dive….

New resource for you: We are excited that our new “Ideal Career Intensive” program is now being offered through Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt University's Alumni offices once a quarter. This is our new 4 week program which walks participants through our ideal career program to get them on the path towards their dream job at a very affordable price, under $300 total for a full month of coaching. You can read more here if you know any GA Tech alumni OR if you would like your alma mater to offer this program: www.gtalumni.org/pages/careercoaching. We'd be happy to speak with them about offering it. *It is over the phone so can be hosted regardless of location.

In This Issue: I have too many clients come to me who have been thinking about their dream job for a long time and have not yet made it happen! Or their head is still in the clouds and they have not taken tangible steps towards making it real. This month's Career Corner article will show you how to stop dreaming and start making it real!

Client Success Story: I was so happy to hear from a former client, Braeden, who is starting to live his dream. I wanted to share part of his story with you for inspiration. He said that he stumbled along his career journey. Career transition can be messy, and not go according to plan sometimes. That's normal and does not mean you're on the wrong path. Make a plan, but be flexible with it. If things don't go exactly according to plan, don’t assume you're on the wrong track. Braeden has combined several passions into one, Latin America and economics. Often my clients have career ideas and they keep them separated, it's either this or that. Try combining your ideas, see if that improves them or allows you to develop a completely new idea. Congratulations Braeden on your dream job!

How to Take Risks to Find Your Dream Job

How many times have you analyzed something to death, only to realize that it had made you more confused than before? This often happens with my career coaching clients. People tend to analyze something over and over especially when it's a big life change. Try to pay attention to your over analysis. Whether it’s your career change, choosing your major in college or any decision you make along your career path, you need to temper your analysis with following your gut instinct as well.

Following your gut can really pay off, but when doing so there is an element of risk. Do you feel stuck in your career journey? Are you at a crossroads and don’t know which way to turn? Whenever you feel stuck, the most important thing you can do is take an action step. If you’ve analyzed and dwelled on it, and you still don’t know which direction you want to go, it might be time to make a decision about what you really want and take a risk in order to pursue it.

Are you are at a crossroads and ready to take the next step in your journey. Maybe you are in college trying to choose a major or your career path? Is it worth taking the risk to find something that you truly enjoy? If so, it is important to take calculated and measured risks that are smart, but you also have to push yourself sometimes. You just have to balance the risks you take. Here is my favorite quote, "The greatest risk in life is not taking one." Keep this in mind when you are trying to decide where to go next. Just remember that there's a risk in not taking any risk at all.

Now that you have decided to take the next step on your career journey, you might be asking yourself what your next step actually is. Identifying your ideal career is a process but sometimes your passion and possible career path is right under your nose and you've simply overlooked it. Look back at your previous jobs, volunteer opportunities, freelance work or other former work-related experiences. What did you like and what didn't you like about each position? These are great options for career possibilities because the chances are that you took the time to volunteer because it is something you really enjoyed doing.

Take the risk! Make your first step in finding your dream job. Remember no risk, no reward!
